Lincolnshire Wolds Railway
20th May 2025
A visit to the LWR was arranged by our
local camera group.
Luckily for us there was a fair amount
going on as this was a Tuesday working party at the railway.
Here the weedkiller train is being
propelled towards North Thoresby.
Soon after that this lorry arrived from
the east of Ludborough.
The lorry crosses the railway and then
begins to reverse towards the north onto the rail lines.
Now in position the trailer is
disconnected..
..and the tractor unit moves into
position alongside the trailer.
Meanwhile an 0-4-0 diesel shunter has
been extracted from siding alongside the old goods shed.
Bodywork seems in quite poor condition,
but this loco is bound for a railway in the Midlands.
No.7 is slowly propelled over the
crossing to the waiting lorry.
The loco is now being winched up the
special ramps and onto the lorry trailer.
With the loco safely in place on the
lorry the ramps are now being dismantled.
No.7 seen at its previous home at the
Tioxide factory at Pyewipe in Grimsby.
